While speculation over a potential cross-country battle for custody of their 6-year-old Suri reached a fever pitch over the weekend, the estranged couple announced this morning that they have quietly and privately reached a settlement.
"The case has been settled and the agreement has been signed," Holmes' attorney told E! News. "We are thrilled for Katie and her family and are excited to watch as she embarks on the next chapter of her life.
"We thank Tom's counsel for their professionalism and diligence that helped bring about this speedy resolution."As for what resolution, exactly, that is, that for now remains unclear as no details about their agreement were released.
Hardly surprising given the joint statement the former couple released this morning vowing to maintain their privacy through this very public ordeal.
"We are committed to working together as parents to accomplish what is in our daughter Suri's best interests," the couple told E! News this morning in a statement released through their reps. "We want to keep matters affecting our family private and express our respect for each other's commitment to each of our respective beliefs and support each other's roles as parents."
