Before the ceremony, Kanye was the typical nervous groom, swigging obsessively from a bottle of water and shifting his weight from one foot to the other.
"It was funny how nervous he was," an onlooker tells PEOPLE. "He clearly knew the gravity of what he was about to do. This morning he was all smiles, but as it got closer, you could see that the nerves were kicking in. It's common for most grooms. I've seen it all before."
Now that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are officially married, it's time for the real fun to begin.
The party is in full effect at the sweeping Forte di Belvedere in Florence, Italy, where the couple exchanged vows on Saturday before a wall of flowers – echoing the lavish Mother's Day gift West gifted to his bride earlier this month.
Adding to the glamorous backdrop: more than $100,000 worth of floral arrangements from one of Florence's oldest flower shops, Fiori Della Signoria. The shop delivered arrangements to the fort earlier in the day, including tuberose flowers, a fragrant white bloom indigenous to Mexico.
In addition to a performance during the ceremony by Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, who sang "Con te Partiró" as the bride walked down the aisle on the arm of her stepfather, Bruce Jenner, a pianist later played standards including "Misty."
At the reception, the first dance song was "At Last" performed by John Legend. The next songs played were "These Arms of Mine" and "A Little Tenderness" by Otis Redding, "Otis" by Kanye and Jay Z then Michael Jackson's "Rock With You."
