She almost tripped when she opened the door and saw everyone jump on their feet screaming SURPRISE
With a heart full of warmth and appreciation he hugged everyone one after the other after which she asked for permission to go freshen up for the party. Banky W eager to serenade the actress, seized the break and rendered an acapella version of the conventional Happy birthday song during which Omotola jokingly revealed her age to be FIFTEEN.



A show of her great appreciation for her husband's effort was when the actress planted a warm and intense kiss twice on her hubby's mouth in the presence of everyone which had the guests cheering and cameras going off with flashes capturing the moment.

Omosexy who had flown 15 hours from Atlanta and must have been enervated seemed to have had verve restored at the sight of the people, the acknowledgement of the surprise, and...hmmm...that kiss. She danced hard, took photos with friends, family, and well-wishers, granted interviews, among other elating activities.

Her effervescent hubby, when asked by a reporter to share he back how he feels having his wife back home after 5 months, he buoyantly said: "What I’ve not been able to do for five months, I must do tonight."

Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde received the ‘Film Icon of the Year’ award at the recently held Black Entertainment Film Fashion Television and Arts Awards 2012.
She dedicated the award to her production team, producers she’s worked with since 1995 and most importantly gave a special shoutout to her hubby Captain Mathew Ekeinde

‘Most especially I want to dedicate this to my husband who is always standing by me and my children. I just want to say thank you and God bless you’, Omotola  said, beaming with smiles.

Group To Replace Genevieve, Omotola, Jim Iyke, Others With New Face

A non-governmental organisation, The African Film Consortium (TACF) is set to produce actors to take over the likes of top African actors like Omotola, Jim Iyke, Jim Iyke, Ramsey Nouah and others the continent is proud of.

The group, which has its membership drawn from 20 countries including Ireland and UK, has its headquarters in The Gambia.

TAFC is geared towards cultivating
creative and cultural sentiments to guide
African film making. This includes: providing assistance through film grants, community development, film festivals, exhibitions, awards, youth empowerment projects and career development.

In order to achieve this, TAFC will start three major film projects September 2012 in Liberia, The Gambia and Cameroon. This films are designed to help discover and train new talents in acting as well as other crew in the film making business across Africa.full details insiide

The image maker of TAFC, Balah Omar told us that efforts are being put together to ensure this initiative gets the needed awareness through the media across Africa.

The four major groups that will be connected to the foundation as it develops are: film makers and their networks, project volunteers, diverse community network/participating audience as well as sponsorship for individuals, organisations and public venues.

Omotola To Start Tv Reality Show

The reality show tagged ‘The Real Omotola’ will centre on the private life of the wife, mother of four, actress and philanthropist. She’s currently shuttling the world shooting the reality show.
Cameras will follow the screen diva’s day to day life and let us into her real world. We will all see Omotola like we have never seen her before.
Omotola is the executive producer of the show and and it will hit TV stations before the end of this year.

‘I’M NOT DOING MUSIC BECAUSE OF MONEY’: OMOTOLA

Sultry actress, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde has hit back at rumours that her ‘famous’ appearance at the 2011 Grammy awards was a publicity stunt.

In an exclusive chat with Nigerian Entertainment Today, Omotola says she was invited and hosted by the organisers of the awards, in recognition of her humanitarian activities. According to her, one of her songs, Barren Land was adopted by Amnesty International which they are currently using for their campaign.full deets inside

‘Universal Studios actually sent that song to the Grammys in Atlanta and they liked the song and they did an investigation on me and the kind of work I have been doing in the past with the UN and all, then I was invited as an African singer who is doing a lot with charity. I was there in that capacity’ she said.

Speaking on why she is yet to release another album six years after the first, Omotola her desire for perfection is the reason why her new body of work is not yet released, two years after its completion.

‘I’m still shooting videos now but if it is not right, I won’t push it out. My first album was a success but this time, I just think that it’s a work of art, I want to make sure it’s relevant even in the next ten years. If I was about making money, I would have given it to a marketer…I’m not doing music because I want the money back’ she said.

According to her, the new album will be titled ‘Me, Myself and Eyes’, and will have a feel of rock and pop.

The new LP, we’re told, will be released before the end of the year on the Universal Studios imprint.

Omotola Jalade started acting in 1995 in the movie ‘Venom of Justice’ and has since acted in over 200 movies with numerous awards to her credit. Her latest movie appearance is in the highly anticipated ‘Last flight from Abuja‘ which premieres this August.

I Didn’t Love My Husband At First- Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde

And this is quite understandable, as their union of 16 years has weathered the storm and is one of the few in the industry that is scandal free.

Surprisingly, the actress says scandals are expected when an individual is famous. As such, they add up in making her life story more interesting. She adds that she is not bothered because her husband is very understanding.full deets inside

“It would have been extremely painful if my husband takes things to heart, then it would have been a roller coaster ride for me and then I have to go through the problem again and again. God has been great you know, ‘the guy no get wahala,” She quips.

As a veteran in the marriage business, Omosexy, as the actress is fondly called reveals that the love was not instantaneous. “I always tell people that when I met him. I was not in love with him but he says for him it was love at first sight so I had to grow to love him. I was attracted to him because of his maturity. I saw the ability for him to see me. I mean, he knows me more than I know myself. It is just weird I can’t explain. You just can’t get it. But he feels my pain, it is easy for him.

When their paths first crossed, a young Omotola had just lost her father; hence the emotional trauma she was experiencing at that time was overwhelming.

Then her husband showed up with a ray of hope and then she fell for his charming nature. “In those days I was young so there were ways I particularly handle things that were immature so I would snap very fast because I was short-tempered. So many people will think I was very difficult even my mother. But he would tell her to leave me alone. Even then, my mother will say ‘you will not marry, there is no one that will marry you,’’ She says with a smile.

Describing her husband as her love ‘therapist’, Ekeinde attributes her spiritual growth to her husband. “I have even gone closer to Christ because of his exemplary behavior and the way he handles things. With the maturity I find in him, I can admire that and then emulate him. That is the connection and the way I have been able to live with him.”

Asked if she considers herself a doting mother to her four children, the actress lets out a gale of laughter, saying , “In my own mind yes. In fact my kids think I am their situation too much. So I am thinking that if I was around, they would have run away from the house. I feel I am a very hands on mum in fact I just got back from Ghana and they were telling me that I am always on the phone with them. Even though my husband is always around, I know what they are doing every minute. I think I am a bit too strict with them maybe because I am taking after my mother. She was a disciplinarian to the core.”
