When the case came up at the Magistrate’s Court in Somolu on Thursday, the police prosecutor, Inspector Anyanwu, told the court that Miss Akilapa was arrested by a mob that accused her of conspiracy and stealing of bunches of keys.
The offence, according to the prosecutor, is punishable under section 383, 516 and 517 criminal code of Lagos state.
In her response to the charge during the court session, the accused, who claimed to be trained by popular actor Abbey Lanre, said: “I have featured in about five films including Aiyelaba.
“I produced Bunmi Akata which I use a bunch of 100 keys to act. I am also a makeup artist.
“On the day I was arrested, a woman named Mama Ayoola, called me and said that I should bring weaveon for her. I did not know Mama Ayo Ola was not living at that compound. When I got there, I asked a girl about Mama Ayo Ola and she directed me to knock on the next door.
“ An Igbo man peeped from the door and said Mama Ayo was not living there. And as I was about going out, the mob pounced on me, searched my bags and found the hundred keys with the weave on. They later handed me over to the policemen at Alade Divisional headquarters.”
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges and the magistrate, Justice Mrs. E.A. Adekomaya, granted her bail in the sum of N14, 000 with two sureties who must own a landed property in Lagos, with evidence of paying tax to Lagos state government.
The case was adjourned till 12 March, 2013, while the defendant was moved to Kirikiri prison in Apapa, Lagos pending when she could perfect her bail conditions.

The last time I saw her was in September so how can a marriage take place when the subject matters have not seen each other? I have not married Nkiru Sylvanus and if a wedding of such took place, people should be able to name the place, date and time. It is not true”. I was a Christian But Now I have found peace in Hinduism.- Nigerian Actress Biola Ige
When you said to worship, what do you mean by that?
l worship as a Hindu. I know what you may want to say. I do not see anything wrong with following any religion of your choice. It is a free world. And I choose Hinduism.
Did you become an Hindu when you travelled to India or while you were in Nigeria?
I was a Hinduist before I travelled to India. I was a Christian before I changed my faith and I must tell you I have found peace in Hinduism. And in India, I felt at home. I didn’t feel like returning to Nigeria again because everyone was so nice to me.

Men Don't See Actresses as Wife Materials, But as Sex Toys - Actress Aisha Abimbola
A lot of men out there do not see actresses as women they can marry, they see us as sex toys. They see us as women they can just come to, gamble with and go. Imagine a man betting with his friends that I can date that actress, even marry her and have kids from her. And once he is done, he is gone.

Nollywood Actress, Dorothy Njamanze Beaten To Stupor By Army Officers - Narates Her Ordeal
“On my way from the ambassador for peace beauty pageant held at the Sheraton Hotels, I decided to check on my brother at the end of my street. I parked my car in front of Dreams Garden at the end of my street behind one bus, and was going in to see Ugo (my brother) when a man dressed in a man-o-war uniform appeared from nowhere and shoved me on my breasts, commanding that I get into the bus I parked behind.
I reprimanded him for touching my breasts but instead of apologizing, he continued to pushing me by my breasts towards the bus, so when I couldn’t bear it anymore I pushed him too and started running away.
Three men wearing man-o-war uniform and a head warmer, no name tags, and two plain clothes policemen ran after me. When they caught me they descended on me, beating me mercilessly despite the fact that I was screaming who I was.
A girl who was waiting for me in my car, after waiting for a while and didn’t see me, came down to go and look for me at my brother’s place. She was horrified to see all those uniformed men assaulting me and trying to force me into the bus.
She started pleading with them, telling them who I am and even showing them my car keys, but all to no avail. She started screaming when she thought they were going to kill me and that attracted people’s attention.
When crowd gathered and people started recognizing me, they started coming to my rescue and there was almost a mob attack. A soldier out of fear cocked his gun and said he’ll shoot me if I don’t enter the bus.
What hurts most is that I’ve been fighting against violence against women, and now I’m a first victim of it. I have over 70 cases of abused women on Abuja streets. “The team that assaulted me tried to escape. I chased them down to area 10.
Ugo found me there and another soldier cocked a gun, pointed at his tummy and threatened to shoot. A female soldier cocked her gun and pointed at Justina, the girl in my car, who was supposed to be on my show (ability talk, earlier in the day on love 104.5fm). Apparently the female soldier wanted to shoot Justina for having piercings on her face, because she said Justina was not a true Nigerian by that," She said
She further stated that "women have been randomly abducted and forced to confess to prostitution by AEPB in conjunction with the questionable NGO, Society Against Prostitution and Child Labour.
I have over 70 cases against them and now I’m a victim. Women are not safe in Abuja.
The Military should be put to better use. It’s high time they pay for the damages they have been causing. I am so traumatized. Having cocked guns pointed at us is a mental image that tortures me.
Government needs to hear us out, get facts and figures and stop the abuse against women. I wish the national assembly will permit me make a full presentation on the degree of this violence against women in Abuja and act immediately on it.
I have rape victims, bullet injury victims, people beaten out of their jeeps at gunpoint whose names were published as prostitutes in national dailies, abused youth corper all sorts of traumatized victims. These people need rehabilitation at difference levels urgently.
Well, we hope the government is reading because the worst kinds of violence are those against women and children," she concluded.

I’m In Love with Yul Edochie- Ghanaian Actress
Christabel Ekeh is a Ghanaian actress. Will I call this a quest for popularity or what? All these Ghanaian actresses loving our Nigerian actors. Ok yes yes I get it. We are the giant of Africa, keep loving us. Lol
Here is what she said in a recent interview; "I love to meet him on set. Naturally, I used to have a crush on him but actually I can now control myself (laughs). I will keep it till I meet him. I haven’t met him in person and I am looking forward to that, I think if he sees me, he will want to have dinner with me (laughs) or have a date with me. Most definitely, I don’t even think I will have to ask him out because he will go on a date with me. At least, I am very beautiful. I mean if you love someone in this age you don’t hide your feelings. We are in a fast world so no need of hiding your feelings; I am expressing my feelings towards him. I think he looks sexier when he acts rough. When you love someone, everything he does, you will love.”

The event, which is taking place in Port-Harcourt, River State, saw Tonto being announced the winner in the category of the award keenly contested by the two sexy and top actresses.
Before now, shortly after they were announced as nominees in the category, Tonto reportedly took a jab on Ini Edo where she sarcastically told Ini not to play a reported prank she did at the build up to an award in 2011 which was then contested between Ini and Rita Dominic.
This seems to be the first major award Tonto Dikeh is winning after joining the movie industry in Nigeria for about six years ago. She has many movies to her credits.. congrats to her

Rita Dominic Can’t Still Believe This
That Nollywood is presently going through a revitalised phase is no surprise, but that some actors and actresses, who have been in the game for some time and are still relevant in the movie industry is surely surprising.
Not many, who craved for a better Nollywood, are making relevance in the game now. Some have backed off while some have simply remained underground trying to strategise on how to fit in or make a come back, if possible.
For the likes of Omotola Ekeinde Jalade, Genevieve Nnaji, Jim Iyke, Rita Dominic and few others, there is no doubt that they are still threats to many up and coming actors and actresses.
In an interview captured by us some months ago at an event, Rita Dominic revealed that she is amazingly surprised that she is still relevant in the ‘new’ Nollywood, which has undergone sporadic changes.
When asked to comment on Nigerian movie industry in yesteryears compared to how it is today. The 2012 AMAA Best Actress of the Year winner said, “it (Nollywood) has grown tremendously. I never believed I would be here to witness these changes, but I am still here. The industry can only get better.”
Rita is one of the few Nollywood icons that have survived the breeze that is sweeping through the film industry. She has been busy on a movie location in Ibadan, Oyo State, where she spent about four months before returning to Lagos few days ago.

There is Nothing Wrong in Wearing a Provocative Dress- Actress Ope Olusanya
I will continue to say this, I wear anything that suits me and anything I feel I am comfortable in. So, whoever wears something provocative, it means that person is comfortable with what she is wearing. There is no big deal about that, none at all. Most people who frown at provocative dressing are hypocrites. That is the truth. It is this same people who complain about some ladies dressing, are the one who will still say, oh! That girl really looks nice, how I wish I can have her as a girlfriend! We pretend a lot in this our society.
